Day 01: – Fly to Paro International Airport

You will have spectacular scenic flight of Himalayas including Everest and Bhutanese foothills and the landscapes to the Paro Airport of Bhutan. On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be received by our representative. After lunch enjoy afternoon sightseeing around Paro, including a visit to the Ta Dzong Museum housing many religious relics, works of art and handicrafts offering a great orientation into Bhutan’s historical, cultural, and religious past. Visit the Paro Rinpung Dzong. Visit Kichu Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the country. Visit Drugyal Dzong (Bhutan Victory Fort). In the evening visit Paro town, stroll through its quaint two streets and browse through the shops.

Day 02: – Paro to Thimpu drive

We will have 2hrs drive to Capital city of Bhutan, Thimpu. Enjoy a full day of sightseeing, including a visit to the National Memorial Chorten. National Textile Museum, the Folk Heritage Museum, School of Traditional Painting of Arts and Crafts is some worthy places of visit. Also take a tour of the king’s administrative building known as Tashicho Dzong. Tashicho Dzong houses some ministries, His Majesty’s secretariat, and the central monk body. Visit the National Library housing the collection of Bhutanese scriptures dating back to the 8th century; the Traditional Paper Factory displays the Bhutanese paper making process, and a fascinating replica of a medieval farmhouse at the Folk Heritage Museum. Stroll around the city in the evening. Overnight at Thimphu.

Day 03: – Full Day Sightseeing in Thimpu (2350m)

Today is another day of full day sightseeing in Thimpu. Visit Pangri Zampa Monastery, situated just beyond Dechencholing Palace (5kms from Thimpu). This temple was the first residence of Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal when he arrived in Bhutan in 1616 A.D. visit National Textile Museum which is a good place to see the art of traditional weaving being kept alive and preserved through exhibition. The Memorial Chorten which was constructed in 1974 as a memorial for the third King of the country, King Jigme Dorji Wang chuck. Visit the radio tower (for a great view of Thimpu Valley and the Thimpu Dzong), and the zoo, which contains the national animal of Bhutan. After lunch, visit the National Institute of Traditional Medicine, a traditional paper factory, the majestic Tashichodzong, the Simtokha Dzong (the oldest fortress in the kingdom), and the Folk Heritage Museum. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 04: – Thimpu to Punakha and Wangdi Phodrong

Morning, Thimphu sightseeing, visit National Library, Painting School, Traditional Medicine Institute. Then proceed to Punakha across Dochula pass (3050m). The pass offers the most spectacular view over the high peaks of the eastern Himalayas. Punakha is the old capital town of Bhutan. Mid-day we reach Punakha, which sits at the con­fluence of the “Mother” river and the “Father” river in a sub-tropical valley. After picnic lunch by the Wangdi River continue to Wangdi Phodrong Dzong, the most picturesque place in all over Bhutan.

Day 05: – Trek to Phobjika (Gangtey)

We start the day with an easy amble through rice fields to visit Chime Lhakhang, a local temple perched on a hill above a traditional village. Pass through dense forests of Oak and Rhododendron trees, reaching at Gangtey (Phobjika). It is the home of the rare black-necked cranes that fly over Tibet in the winter. Explore Phobjika valley and also visit to Gangtey Monastery, the only Nyingmapa monastery in Bhutan.

Day 06: – Gangtey to Paro

We leave Gangtey today for the five-hour drive to historic Paro. En route explore Simtokha Dzong the oldest one in Bhutan and the capital city Thimpu.

Day 07: – Sightseeing Paro: visit Taktsang (Tiger Nest Monastery)

Drive through the Paro valley to see the Drugyal Dzong/kyichu Lhakhang. Hike to Taktsang Gompa (Tiger’s Nest Monastery). Taktsang is the most famous of all Bhutanese monasteries. The hikes up to the viewpoint will take about 1 1/2 hours and from there you will enjoy a spectacular view of the monastery clinging to the side of the cliff. We also take you to visit 200 year old Watch Tower (Ta Dzong) including the ruins of historical Drugyal High School. On the return drive to Paro, visit 7th Century Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the 108 temples constructed by the Tibetan king Songtsen Gompa.

Day 08: – Final Departure

After breakfast, we will bid you farewell at the Paro International Airport for your flight to your onward destinations.
